Hey there! I'm Kimberley, the founder and principal consultant of Safe Organizations, LLC. But that's not all I am. I'm also a safeguarding & protection practitioner, a licensed attorney and mediator, a staunch advocate of child and human rights, a sociable introvert and empath, a full-time nomad, an aspiring artist, a nature enthusiast, an avid reader, a wannabe polyglot, and a continuous learner. Now let's talk about how I approach my work.
In my 26 years of combined experience in safeguarding, child protection, and the practice of law, I have worked in both the international and domestic US sectors. Through my work, I've come to believe that transformative change can only be achieved through meaningful engagement, empowerment, and transparency. As I continuously develop cultural humility through daily interactions, targeted learning, and self-reflection, I grow in awareness of the unearned privilege that my race, national origin, mother-tongue, and formal education has afforded me. In turn, I approach safeguarding work as a servant-leader and with a deep sense of humbleness.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to learn from some of the brightest and most talented practitioners in the world. (And I am often awed and inspired by the safeguarding practices that I witness!) Through the steady development of practice over the years, I have become adept in crisis management, trauma-informed practice (including investigations and case management), child engagement and interviewing, community engagement, development of policies and procedures, design and implementation of local & global initiatives, navigation through complex organizational systems, and individual & team coaching.
