Seminar: Creating Your Career Path for Safeguarding Practitioners

Description: Safeguarding is a continuously evolving field. Despite the growing need and demand for Safeguarding Practitioners, individuals working in domestic or international non-government organizations (NGOs) and other non-profits are all too often confronted with a lack of professional growth and development opportunities. There are often few or no paths to leadership roles limiting the possibility for advancing your skills, competencies, and capacities.

Do you feel stuck? Stagnated? Undervalued or under-appreciated? Afraid to apply for that next level position? As a Safeguarding practitioner, there may be few opportunities to promote within your organization or sector, but your skills are transferrable!

Agenda: Each section will be timed to ensure a timely start and finish.
1. Brief introduction (5 minutes)
2. Lecture & Group Exercise: Safeguarding skills, competencies, and capacities (20 minutes)
3. Guided Individual Exercise: Defining your career pathway (10 minutes)
4. Lecture & Small Group* Exercise: Finding your niche and identifying your value (20 minutes)
5. Q&A: Participants can submit questions via the chat for live answers (5 minutes)
*small groups depend on size of enrollment for the seminar
